Rising phosphate prices have led the Potash corporation in Canada to unprecedented profits. Gross margins increased to CA$156Million for Q1 2008 from CA$64 for Q1 2007 giving an increase of 150%. Acreages planted to crops requiring fertilisers is growing to meet food and fuel demand. Potash corp is experiencing extreme demand and therefore leverage in pricing.
