Investment and support gathers for second generation biofuels.

The Dutch consortium AkzoNobel, energy company Essent, algae producers Ingrepo and Wageningen university have just received more than EUR 1million government funding to investigate the potential of converting algae into feedstock for the chemical industry. Algae seem promising as a future source of biofuel.

But when will this potential second generation biofuel take to the stage?
